How to Have a Romantic Disney Cruise (Even if the Kids are With You)

Make Use of the Kids Club

One of the greatest things about any cruise is the fact that they offer free childcare for potty-trained kids of a certain age. On DCL, kids must be at least 3 years old to use the free kids clubs. If your child is 3 or older, we highly recommend taking full advantage of these clubs.

The kids clubs host all kinds of awesome activities throughout the day. Whether your kids are into sports, science, or crafting, there will be plenty of fun events for them to jump into at the kids clubs. These clubs are open for at least a portion of every day, meaning you should be able to get some alone time in each and every day.

Head to the Nursery

Have a little one who’s a bit too tiny for the kids club? Disney ships also offer amazing nurseries for the tiniest cruisers. These nurseries are adorable, fully stocked, and staffed by fully certified and amazing staff.  While nursery services do cost extra, the price is totally reasonable, and you can leave your baby or toddler knowing they will be well cared for. And like the kids clubs, the nursery is open for at least a portion of every day. Nursery spots can be booked in advance, and we highly recommend doing so, as the nursery can fill up during busier times of day.

Upgrade Your Room

An inside stateroom or ocean view room can be fine. However, for a really romantic cruise, we recommend upgrading. A veranda room provides you with a place to get away and hang out with your significant other after the kids go to bed. Better yet, a 1-bedroom suite will give you a completely separate room to sleep in, providing you with privacy after the little ones go to bed.
