An evening out at Disney Springs took an unexpected turn when authorities say a guest’s behavior escalated into an attempted break-in and a retail disturbance.

Orange County deputies arrested 28-year-old Adam Stephenson of Indiana after a series of events that began outside House of Blues Orlando. According to law enforcement, Stephenson was observed attempting to enter access codes at a locked entrance shortly before 11 p.m. When he could not gain entry, deputies allege he began striking and kicking the door.
Officials noted that the entrances were not open to the public and were clearly restricted. One led to administrative offices, while another provided access to the concert venue. After failing to enter, authorities say he fled the area.
Moments later, deputies report that Stephenson entered the M&M’s Store nearby, where he allegedly knocked items off display shelves before exiting. As security personnel attempted to intervene, investigators say he positioned metal bar stools in a way that slowed their pursuit.

Law enforcement described him as intoxicated and stated that his behavior disrupted guests enjoying the shopping and dining complex. Given the time of night, the area was still active with families and visitors.
Stephenson was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail. He faces charges of disorderly intoxication and attempted burglary of a structure. Court documents indicate he entered a not guilty plea. His request for a public defender was denied due to his reported income.

Disney Springs, known for its restaurants, nightlife, and retail locations, sees heavy traffic daily. While alcohol is served at many venues, the environment is closely monitored by security teams and local deputies.
Authorities have not reported significant damage from the incident, but they emphasized that behavior involving forced entry attempts and public disruption is treated seriously.
The case will now proceed through the court system as Stephenson prepares to contest the charges.
