AvatarĀ fans have been waiting for news about the very-long-awaited sequel (make that multiple sequels) to the original 2009Ā AvatarĀ film — especially since Walt Disney World Resort only whetted fans’ appetites by installing the popular Flight of Passage simulator ride in the Animal Kingdom, which can have as high as a four-hour wait in line and allows Guests to experience riding Banshees as the N’avi do.
Now it looks like Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger and AvatarĀ director and creator James Cameron might have something else in mind for the world of Pandora!
Director James Cameron recently spoke to Variety and made it clear in the interview that he has had some very promising discussions with the now-returned Disney CEO Bob Iger!
āWhen Bob Iger came back a couple weeks ago, I did send him an email and say, āYou know, we can do āAvatar 2ā and 3 motifs and put them into the physical hardware of āAvatar Flight of Passage.ā Cameron revealed. āHe liked that idea”.
That sounds promising to us! Cameron did add that “nothing has been decided,” but he also added that “we would like to carry that along and update it from time to time with things that flow back out of the new movies. Because I think thereās a good synergy between the physical base where you can go and just kind of meditate and be on Pandora and how the movies progress the story and bring in new imagery.ā
Perhaps the Avatar Flight of Passage ride will get some Avatar: The Way of WaterĀ updates after the movie premieres later this month — or maybe some updates related to the Pandora ocean conservation initiative that Disney has just announced! Or perhaps James Cameron and Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger will decide to commit to an entirely new ride somewhere else in the Animal Kingdom!
Are you a fan of the Avatar Flight of Passage ride in the Animal Kingdom Disney Park? Are you excited to see Avatar: The Way of Water?
