It almost feels like the last month of the news cycle has been a dog year. From the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump to the Republican National Convention and the naming of JD Vance as Trump’s running mate to President Joe Biden dropping out of the race, we’ve crammed years’ worth of news into the last two weeks.

It culminated this week with Vice President Kamala Harris stepping forward to succeed President Biden and become the Democratic nominee for President. And with that, the response has been overwhelming to only the second woman in American history to be at the top of the ticket for a major party.

As it became clear that Kamala Harris would be the nominee, the Republican Party had to switch its attack from President Biden to the Vice President. With very little time to make the transition, some of the attacks were childish, while others were downright sexist and racist.

To that end, an old interview that JD Vance gave with Tucker Carlson on Fox News came to light. During the interview, Vance said that “childless cat ladies who are miserable in their own lives” have “no stake in America.” Critics immediately pointed to Kamala Harris as a “childless cat lady.”

However, the “childless cat lady” quote is now coming back to bite Vance as other women are using that in a positive light to show just how much some of them have contributed to America.

As women took to social media to combat the stereotype that Vance put forward, they put together a list of “childless cat ladies” who have contributed to American society. At the top of that list was Dolly Parton.

Once fans realized that JD Vance had just disrespected Dolly Parton, social media immediately defended the woman who has done more for America and other people in Appalachia than anyone else in this country.

One fan wrote on X:

He’s taking on Dolly Parton? Seriously? Has he got some kind of death wish?

Vance rose to prominence through his book Hillbilly Elegy. Many Dolly Parton fans pointed out that Vance spent most of his early life in rural Ohio, which technically isn’t Appalachia, and he, therefore, should not use the term “hillbilly.”

People also rose to defend Parton, who has spent most of her life helping the people of Eastern Tennessee. Parton has donated millions to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital to study cancer and COVID-19. She also donated hundreds of thousands of books to children in need.

So, while attacking Harris is fair game now that she’s the Democratic nominee, JD Vance learned the hard way that you don’t mess with Dolly Parton.

She has many friends and fans on the internet who always have her back. And if Parton decided to run for President, she would win in a landslide.

Taylor Swift also fits the bill of a “childless cat lady.” Vance better hope the Swifties don’t get a hold of this.

Never would I have thought I would see the day that Disney fanatic would become a platform for political polarization. This just shows how unstable the dream called America has become. JD Vance make a poor decision with his remarks not understanding todays America will rubber stamp his comments
