Disgraced Marvel Star Faces Massive New Lawsuit

In March 2023, Marvel fans were shocked when they heard that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star, Jonathan Majors, had been arrested for violently assaulting his girlfriend. According to the reports, Majors was arrested on charges of third-degree assault, harassment, and strangulation. The victim — who was not named at the time — was taken to the hospital because she had injuries to her hand, head, and neck.

We later learned that the victim of Majors’ assault was his then-girlfriend, Grave Jabbari. Majors’ said that he was innocent and tried to get the charges against him dismissed, but went to trial in November. The jury heard footage of Majors comparing himself to Martin Luther King and Barack Obama. He was also seen on security footage fighting with Jabbari.

On December 18, Majors was found guilty of reckless assault in the 3rd-degree and 3rd-degree harassment. Majors and his legal team are currently appealing the ruling.

Unfortunately, it looks like a guilty verdict and potential jail time are not the only legal troubles that Majors finds himself in.

On March 19, Jabbari — the woman Majors was convicted of assaulting — filed a lawsuit against the Loki star in New York federal court. She is suing Majors for battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, malicious prosecution, and defamation. The defamation claims stem from Majors accusing Jabbari of lying about the assault.

Per The Hollywood Reporter:

She accuses Majors of subjecting her to a “pattern of pervasive domestic abuse that began in 2021 and extended through 2023,” detailing several instances of alleged physical violence.

According to the suit, on Sept. 20, 2022, after an earlier largely verbal fight, Majors “pushed Grace so hard that it bruised her backside,” “picked Grace up in the air and threw her against the hood of her car” and “brought Grace back into their house and held his hands around her neck, stating that he wanted to kill her, and that he was going to kill her. Majors then started hitting Grace’s head against the marble floor while strangling her until she felt she could no longer breathe.”

The lawsuit also claims that the abuse had been going on for almost a year. Jabbari claims that the actor’s physical abuse became worse when the two moved to London in 2022. She claimed that he would chase her around their home, force her to lock herself in rooms, and threaten suicide in order to prevent her from reporting the abuse to the police.

Jabbari also points to an interview that Majors did with Good Morning America after he was found guilty. In the interview, he continued to maintain his innocence. The model and dancer claims that Majors used the interview to continue to try to convince the public that Jabbari was being untruthful.

Ms. Jabbari is claiming malicious prosecution because, after the altercation in which Majors was arrested, he filed a criminal complaint against Jabbari. He allegedly tried to convince prosecutors to have Jabbari arrested, even though they told him they were not going to prosecute her. She claims that he wanted her arrested in order to make himself look better before his trial.

After being found guilty of assault, Majors was scheduled to be sentenced on February 6, but the sentencing has been delayed until April 8. Majors has also been dropped by Marvel Studios, losing his job in the role of Kang the Conqueror. Marvel had been planning to make Majors the center of a new Avengers film, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, which was supposed to be released in 2026.

Marvel is still planning on releasing a new Avengers film, but it will no longer center around Kang. The title has also been changed, but not released to the public.
