The Jurassic Park franchise has always been about more than just dinosaurs—it’s about man playing god, the terror of nature reclaiming control, and the thrill of survival against the odds. Now, a new video game aims to put players right in the middle of that chaos.
“Jurassic Park: Survival,” an upcoming first-person action-adventure title, is set immediately after the events of the original 1993 blockbuster film, giving fans a chance to experience Isla Nublar in a way they never have before. Watch the trailer below:

The game follows Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist who was left behind when the park fell apart. With no rescue team coming, her only option is to navigate the ruins of John Hammond’s failed dream while avoiding dinosaurs that have now taken over the island.
Unlike previous Jurassic Park games that leaned into action or park management, “Survival” is focused on tension, exploration, and, as the name suggests, staying alive.
Excitement surrounding the game peaked when its trailer debuted at The Game Awards in December 2023, showcasing a beautifully rendered Isla Nublar and realistic dinosaur AI. However, since an exclusive with IGN in June last year, news about the project became scarce, leading to rumors that the game had been quietly shelved.

Now, that speculation has now been put to rest, as Universal executive producer John Melchior has taken to social media to confirm that development is still moving forward. In his post, he revealed that another round of motion capture–not unusual for video games–had wrapped, promising that fans would receive more updates later this year. This news comes via Jurassic news and content YouTube channel Jurassic Outpost:
“I’m beyond excited to share that we are hard at work on ‘Jurassic Park: Survival,’ just wrapping another performance capture session with more developments to come later this year… Taking the time to deliver the best for our fans, we’ve truly ‘spared no expense!’”
One of the most exciting elements of “Jurassic Park: Survival” is its approach to dinosaurs. Instead of simple enemies to be defeated, these creatures will react to your actions.
This means players will have to strategize on the fly—running, hiding, and using the environment to their advantage rather than just trying to fight their way out.

“Jurassic Park: Survival” Release Date
There’s no release date for “Jurassic Park: Survival.” The game will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
