What if you could experience the wonder—and danger—of Jurassic Park like never before? An upcoming video game, “Jurassic Park: Survival”, promises to immerse fans into the prehistoric chaos of Isla Nublar in a way that’s both thrilling and nostalgic. Set for release in 2025, this first-person action-adventure game will feature the island’s iconic locales while also introducing new areas explored in Michael Crichton’s original novel.
Jurassic Park fans have long compared the fictional resort to Walt Disney World, and for good reason. Both span sprawling acres of entertainment, rely on cutting-edge technology, and feature larger-than-life mascots (albeit of very different varieties).
But the parallels may run deeper with “Jurassic Park: Survival”, as the game’s rumored Maintenance Tunnels will bring to mind Disney World’s famous “Utilidors.” These subterranean passageways in Orlando allow Cast Members to move around unseen, but in Isla Nublar, they’re likely to host something far more dangerous: dinosaurs.
The Utilidors in Disney lore have become the stuff of legend, creating a seamless guest experience by keeping the behind-the-scenes magic hidden. In “Jurassic Park: Survival”, these tunnels—first mentioned in Crichton’s 1990 novel—should they appear, will play a significant role.
Designed for logistical purposes, the tunnels were initially meant for park maintenance and security. However, as the story picks up just 24 hours after the events of the original 1993 film, these dark, confined spaces are likely now overrun by roaming raptors and other genetically engineered predators.
While the tunnels are rarely used in the films, their presence has always been implied (the Baryonyx scene in 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom). After all, the movie’s infamous tour was cut short due to a catastrophic power failure, leaving much of the park unseen. The game’s developers, Universal and Saber Interactive, seem eager to fill in those gaps. In a Q&A session with IGN earlier this year, they teased new, unseen areas that expand the lore of Isla Nublar.

Screenshots from the game hint at these unseen locations, including a rain-drenched bunker that appears to connect to the underground system. The cinematic trailer released last December showcases classic locations like the Visitor Center and park gates but ends with a tantalizing glimpse of what could be the tunnel network.
Unlike typical open-world games, “Jurassic Park: Survival” promises a focused, narrative-driven experience. Developers have confirmed that players will revisit familiar locations from the movie, but they’ll also uncover entirely new environments. Imagine creeping through dimly lit tunnels, hearing the distant growl of a raptor as you scramble for safety…

The official synopsis for “Jurassic Park: Survival” reads: “Return to Isla Nublar the day after the events of the beloved 1993 Jurassic Park film in an original adventure 65 million years in the making.”
Players will step into the shoes of Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist left behind during the evacuation. As a single-player action-adventure, the game offers fans the chance to navigate a world filled with dinosaurs that exhibit adaptive, lifelike behaviors—a chilling realization of John Hammond’s vision.
The game is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC in 2025.
