Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 3 might just be the franchise’s most pivotal animated chapter yet. Far from being a background side story, this season actively pulls threads from Jurassic World Dominion, stitching the animated series tightly into the larger saga.
The return of familiar faces from Camp Cretaceous is expected — Darius Bowman (Paul-Mikél Williams), Ben Pincus (Sean Giambrone), Yasmina Fadoula (Kausar Mohammed), Kenji Kon (Darren Barnet), Sammy Gutierrez (Raini Rodriguez), and Brooklynn (Kiersten Kelly) are all back for another round of dinosaur-fueled danger.

But what elevates Season 3 is its crossover with the live-action films, especially through characters like Soyona Santos (Dichen Lachman), Lewis Dodgson (Adam Harrington), and Barry Sembène (Evan Michael Lee). Their presence firmly anchors the show within the timeline of Dominion, adding weight to every action sequence and character decision.
Malta, and its now-notorious dinosaur black market, becomes a central battleground in Season 3. The series brings this chaotic location to life, capturing the collapse of the market and even echoing Owen Grady’s unforgettable motorcycle chase.
While Chris Pratt himself is absent, the sound of his motorbike tearing through the streets is a clever nod to the film.

But it’s the power struggle between The Handler and Soyona Santos that takes center stage as they each vie for control over the Atrociraptors. Soyona’s use of Biosyn’s laser technology pits her against The Handler’s more traditional methods (a trusted whistle), culminating in a high-stakes confrontation in the ruins of Malta.
Here, Soyona’s secret weapon — the fearsome Carnotaurus — seals The Handler’s fate and also takes down Ghost, one of the Atrociraptors.
Through it all, Chaos Theory Season 3 reinforces a key theme of the franchise: the unpredictable relationship between humans and dinosaurs. While past films have focused on figures like Owen and his connection with Blue, this season explores new dynamics of control and loyalty, offering fresh perspectives on human-dinosaur relationships.
As Jurassic World Rebirth approaches, Chaos Theory positions itself not as an optional side story but as a narrative bridge to the franchise’s future. Whether or not we see these animated characters cross into live-action remains to be seen, but one thing is clear — Chaos Theory is no longer in the franchise’s rearview mirror. It’s racing ahead, full throttle.
