When the gates of Disneyland opened, Walt Disney famously said, “To all who come to this happy place, welcome.” For many years, Disney theme parks have been a place where anyone can go and feel welcome and accepted. For decades, Disneyland and Walt Disney World have even become the unofficial hosts of Gay Days. Those are days when thousands of people from around the world travel to the Parks and celebrate pride with other Disney-loving Guests. However, Disney celebrating pride and its LGBTQ+ Guests has always been a point of contention with more conservative groups.
Recently, the ultra-conservative group CitizenGO has been spotted at both entrances to Disneyland Resort. CitizenGO was founded in Madrid, Spain but has spread across the world. They fight things like women having access to the pill to end an unwanted pregnancy. They also oppose “gender ideology” and anything having to do with LGBTQ+ rights. Their presence comes as Disneyland hosts its very first Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite events.
Twitter user Johnald (@GranCalStan) photographed CitizenGO trucks sitting right outside the entrance to the Mickey & Friends parking garage. They were shocked that the trucks were able to park there, and didn’t know how long they were allowed to stay.
Just saw this when entering Mickey and Friends. They just parked in the medians entering the structure. WHAT THE HELL

The parking garage was not the only spot the protestors were spotted. Three men stood outside the other entrance to Disneyland, holding signs that read, “Disney Parks Are For Kids. Say No To The LGBT Push”, “Reject The LGBT Indoctrination Push”, and “Preserve The Magic Of Childhood”.
However, Disney fans were not having any of it. A woman was filmed ripping a sign out of one man’s hand and throwing it on the ground. The woman never touched the man, but another person filming accused her of assault. The woman did not back down, daring the person to put her on social media. Others made fun of the alleged assault on social media.
I’m sure you’ve heard by now, the harassment and assault that happened at Disneyland. RIP In Memoriam. 🕊️ 🙏
P.S. Get out of here with your hate and fear mongering. Pride night at Disneyland is fun and lighthearted. LGBT+ people have families as well. Instead of wasting money on this @CitizenGO why don’t you put the money towards helping children in need?

Disneyland After Dark: Pride Nite premiered on June 13 to rave reviews. Guests were full of love and joy as they watched a special fireworks show, met rare characters, and danced the night away. California Governor Gavin Newsom also made an appearance. He enjoyed watching the fireworks on Main Street, U.S.A. and spoke to hundreds of people who attended the special event.
Disney fans were especially excited to see Pride Nite come to the Parks in light of the events unfolding in Florida. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has frequently spoken out against Disney and its “woke agenda.” Just days ago, Neo-Nazis stood outside the entrance to Walt Disney World Resort, waving swastika flags and DeSantis 2024 signs. DeSantis has yet to condemn the hateful protest.
