Longtime Disney Fans Are Calling Out These 2025 Downgrades

Something’s changed at Walt Disney World—and it’s not the castles or the rides. It’s the resorts. Longtime guests who’ve made Disney a tradition for decades are sounding off online, saying the experience just isn’t what it used to be.

They’re not talking about major overhauls or dramatic changes. They’re talking about the quiet downgrades. The subtle losses. The things Disney stopped doing—and hoped you wouldn’t notice.

“It Just Doesn’t Feel the Same Anymore”

That’s the most common sentiment on social media and forums. Guests share stories about the Disney perks they used to count on—things like Magical Express, full housekeeping, and even pizza delivery to the room. Many say the magic used to follow them all the way from the airport to bedtime. Now, it feels like a regular hotel stay with a Disney logo slapped on it.

The Most-Missed Perks in 2025

So what exactly has changed? Here's what fans keep calling out:

  • Magical Express & Luggage Delivery – No more free airport transportation. No more bags showing up magically in your room.

  • Room Service and In-Room Pizza – Quietly dropped from the menu with no sign of return.

  • Housekeeping – Now only comes every other day unless you ask. Daily service is a thing of the past.

  • MagicBands – Once mailed for free. Now, they’re an upsell.

  • FastPass+ – Free and easy. Replaced by Lightning Lane, which costs extra.

  • Extended Evening Hours – Only available to Deluxe Resort guests. Everyone else gets 30 minutes in the morning and that’s it.

  • Merch Delivery to Rooms – Used to be a great perk. Now, you’re stuck carrying bags all day.

“Why Am I Paying More for Less?”

That’s the question that keeps coming up. Resort rates haven’t gone down—in fact, many have gone up exponentially. But the perks that made those prices feel worthwhile? They’re vanishing. For many fans, it’s not about the money—it’s about the feeling. The magic. The value.

Is This the New Normal?

Disney hasn’t made a big announcement about any of these changes. They’ve happened slowly, quietly, over time. But by 2025, the difference is crystal clear for returning guests.

This isn’t just about cost-cutting—it’s about identity. And the Disney Resort experience, as longtime fans remember it, is slipping away.

  1. I could not agree more – I know it has become almost cliche, but the magic is just not there anymore. If it was not for the nostalgia factor (I grew up in Central Florida and was at EPCOT on opening day) I’m not sure I would be returning to the Parks or Hotels.

  2. We used to go every year until Covid, 23 years in a row. Haven’t gone back and contemplating going back next year, even actually picked out when, but from what I have read, maybe a change is in order. It sounds to be more of a hassle than an enjoyment and with a hefty price tag to boot. It was always expensive but now it is unreal. I have old tickets and the last time there, they were downgraded to water parks after we were told when we bought them they were good forever. Nice Disney, good way to get on the bad side of people. I am sure you are losing sales without the service of sending things back to the resorts too. Less buying means less stuff to carry. Didn’t think that one through either.
