What if Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, and Han Solo remembered the same Star Wars adventure in completely different ways?
That’s the idea behind Star Wars: A New Hope – Triple Take, an upcoming all-ages graphic novel from Mad Cave Studios that revisits the events of the 1977 classic through three very different perspectives.
Written by Kim Shearer and Chas! Pangburn, the graphic novel gives each of the three heroes their own version of the story.
Luke's recollection is shaped by his belief that he's embarking on a larger destiny, while Leia's account reflects the danger and responsibility of fighting the Galactic Empire. Han, unsurprisingly, has a rather different memory of events, with his own heroism taking center stage.
The concept allows familiar moments from A New Hope to be viewed through completely different personalities, while essentially splitting the film into a trilogy of stories of sorts.

Readers will encounter major sequences including Darth Vader's first appearance, the Mos Eisley Cantina, and the destruction of the Death Star, but the events won't necessarily feel the same each time. Several artists are also working on the book, helping give the different accounts their own visual identities.
The project was revealed at the Lucasfilm Publishing Panel during SDCC as part of the preparations for Star Wars‘ 50th anniversary. And there's certainly no shortage of anniversary material on the way.
Lucasfilm will mark five decades of Star Wars with a limited theatrical release of a newly restored Star Wars (1977) on February 19, 2027. A Welsh-language adaptation of A New Hope, Star Wars: Gobaith Newydd, will premiere on S4C and its streaming platforms on Christmas Day, 2026, while Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles will begin its comic-book run in January.
Philadelphia's Franklin Institute will also host Star Wars: The Experience – A Journey Through the Galaxy from February 2027.
Originally announced for February 2027, Triple Take is currently listed by Simon & Schuster for release on April 27, 2027.
Rather than creating another straightforward adaptation, Lucasfilm is allowing one of its most famous stories to exist as three separate recollections — all within the pages of a single graphic novel.
