Disney Blocks off Fantasyland Area at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom Park has recently closed off access to a popular water feature in Fantasyland, causing some confusion among Disney Park guests. The change comes just weeks after Walt Disney World Resort drained the Rivers of America to transform it into Piston Peak National Park, inspired by Cars (2006).

The area affected by the closures is near the popular Pinocchio Village Haus Quick Service dining location, though the restaurant itself remains open for guests. A light tarp wrapped around the area hides the fountain that once sat in front of the restaurant, which has now dried up.

According to a post shared by @4chipandcompany on X (formerly known as Twitter), the fountain is currently under refurbishment, leaving only the upper half of the feature exposed. Guests can still walk around the fountain, though the water has been turned off for the time being.

No strings attached… but no water either! 💦 The whimsical fountain outside Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom has been turned off and wrapped in scrim as Disney works on refurbishing the feature.

While the fountain takes a break, you can still enjoy flatbreads, salads, …

While there has been no official announcement from Walt Disney World Resort about the specifics of the work, this is likely part of routine maintenance. Disney rarely issues statements about minor refurbishment projects like this one.

Guests visiting Magic Kingdom Park can still enjoy Quick Service meals at Pinocchio Village Haus, with indoor and outdoor seating available. The area around the restaurant remains open, even as Disney works on the fountain feature.
