What You’ll Need

  • – 8″ Pumpkin
  • – Acrylic paint (light green, black, white, dark green)
  • – Paintbrushes
  • – The Child printable template (click “Download PDF” above)
  • – Scissors
  • – Pencil
  • – Hot glue
  • – Glue stick

How To Make It

Directions from: Disney Family

  1. Begin by covering your work surface with newspaper or craft paper. Paint the pumpkin with light green paint, and don’t forget the stem! Add an additional coat of light green paint, if needed. Let dry completely.

2. Click “Download PDF” and print out The Child ears and facial features onto cardstock. Carefully cut out.

3. Using the template as a guide, lightly sketch the facial features onto the pumpkin with pencil. Fill in with black and dark green paint. Let dry completely.

4. Attach The Child’s ears to each side of the pumpkin with hot glue. You may need to trim the edge to better match the shape of your pumpkin.

5. Once the black paint for the eyes is completely dry, add two dots (one smaller than the other) of white paint to each eye.

6. Create the collar by trimming two pieces of cardstock to a 2.5″ width. Attach one set of edges together with the glue stick. Loop around and secure the other ends with the glue stick, creating a circle shape. Cut out a small notch on each side of the collar, just below the ears for a better fit.

7. Place the pumpkin onto the collar and enjoy!

About Jennifer Retzlaff

My name is Jennifer Retzlaff and I became a lifelong Disney fan during my first trip to Walt Disney World in 6th grade. From that moment, Disney became a big part of my life. I live in Iowa with my husband and two kids who are growing up too quickly for my liking. I started introducing my love for Disney early to my family with a Disney honeymoon and then trips when our youngest of 18 months. Since then, our family has been to Walt Disney World over five times and we continue to plan and dream for the next trip. I love the magic that Disney brings to people through the theme parks, cruises, adventures and movies they create. As a teacher, I try to bring that magic into my classroom to help kids believe that “If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It.” I recently reached a dream of mine as I joined Magic Vacation Planner as a personal travel advisor. With this team, I can now help others plan magical vacations. As a passionate writer, I also have my own blog at magicalvacationsbyjen which is also where you can follow me on instagram for trip reviews along with tips and tricks for your next magical vacation.
