RIP Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: Disney World Announces Death of 25-Year-Old Ride

Walt Disney World Resort has shared an update about the Muppets retheme coming to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith next year.

In November, Walt Disney World Resort announced that the iconic Disney’s Hollywood Studios roller coaster will be reimagined to feature the Muppets, replacing the current Aerosmith theme. The ride will remain operational under its current theme through the end of 2025, but a brand-new Muppets version will debut in 2026.

This announcement came alongside Disney’s plans to phase out the Muppet*Vision 3D attraction and Muppets Courtyard to make way for a Monsters, Inc. (2001)-themed area. Recognizing the desire of Muppets fans to keep the beloved characters in the park, Disney decided to bring them to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, a ride with a strong musical theme that fits well with the Muppets Mayhem series.

Walt Disney World Resort hasn’t yet shared the official closing date for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster or a grand reopening date for its Muppets retheme. However, Disney recently gave fans a preview of what they can expect from the upcoming attraction. According to @DrewDisneyDude on X (formerly known as Twitter), Walt Disney World Resort described the new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets as “a fast-paced, music-filled adventure with rock tune remixes, backstage chaos and plenty of laughs.”

  1. I am learning to HATE the muppets. Was a big Animal fan. But Disney execs are changing my feelings.

  2. I love the Muppets taking over Rock n’ roll coaster because I love Janice she is my favorite Muppet band! I love them!
