My Disney Experience App Launches Updated Cast Compliment Feature

Last year, the My Disney Experience app was updated with the ability to send Cast Compliments directly through the app. The only problem? As many Guests were quick to point out, the new feature did not include a field to enter the Cast Member’s name. With the latest app update, a new version of the Cast Compliment feature has been rolled out, and it looks like it will now be easier to get Cast Members the recognition they deserve!

To get to the Cast Compliment screen in the My Disney Experience app, click the menu button (with the three lines) and scroll down to find the Cast Compliment link. From there, you will be prompted to select the location at Walt Disney World of your interaction and a place to note what the Cast Member did that made your experience extra magical.

While the new features on the Cast Compliment screen are certainly a great improvement, we do have to note that only pre-filled compliments are available in the app. It definitely would not hurt to fill out these compliments as any appreciation for Cast Members is great, but if you feel your experience goes above what is available in the app, we recommend emailing Walt Disney World’s Guest Service team with the details at wdw.guest.communications@disneyworld.com.

After you select the compliment and the Cast Member’s work location, you can scroll down to a selection of optional fields, where you will find places to enter the Cast Member’s name, hometown, and date of your interaction. If possible, we recommend filling out all of this information so the Guest Services team can pass your note along to the Cast Member and their leaders. (You can find the Cast Member’s hometown on their nametag, or their college name if they are working at Disney World as part of the Disney College Program.)

If you do not see these options in the app, be sure to check for updates. Once you have the latest version of the My Disney Experience app, for both iOS and Android, you should see the updated Cast Compliment features.

Previously Cast Compliments were also monitored on Twitter using the #CastCompliment hashtag, too. While we still follow the hashtag just as a fun way to keep up with everyone’s Disney experiences, Disney World has become rather inactive on Twitter so we recommend using the app, email address, or visiting Guest Services to ensure your compliment reaches the Cast Member.
