The Wizarding World is adding a new chapter to its legacy–not on screen, but through an all-star soundscape.

As HBO develops its Harry Potter series reboot, Audible is conjuring a different kind of return to Hogwarts with “Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions,” a sweeping re-recording of all seven J.K. Rowling novels. The new adaptation boasts a major roster of talent and promises a cinematic audio experience with Dolby Atmos and original music.
The ensemble features Hugh Laurie as Albus Dumbledore, Riz Ahmed as Severus Snape, Michelle Gomez as Minerva McGonagall, and Matthew Macfadyen as Tom Riddle and Lord Voldemort. The central trio will be voiced by Frankie Treadaway (Harry Potter), Max Lester (Ron Weasley), and Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), who will also portray the character in HBO’s live-action reboot.
“These brand-new productions of the original seven stories by J.K. Rowling will showcase the listening experiences as never heard before,” Audible said in a statement, promising “immersive audio entertainment through high-quality sound design in Dolby Atmos, stunning scoring, captivating performances from A-list actors, original music, and real-world sound capture.”

Pirates of the Caribbean alum Keira Knightley joins the cast as Professor Dolores Umbridge, a character long remembered for her deceptive charm and cruelty. As Deadline reported, Knightley’s casting headlines a star-filled lineup that also includes Kit Harington as Gilderoy Lockhart, Iwan Rheon as Remus Lupin, Ruth Wilson as Bellatrix Lestrange, and James McAvoy as Mad-Eye Moody. Additional names include Ambika Mod, Leo Woodall, Gemma Whelan, Matt Berry, and Simon Pegg.
Variety confirmed further additions, including Bill Nighy stepping into the role of Professor Slughorn after portraying Rufus Scrimgeour in the original films. David Holmes, who served as Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double, will voice Stan Shunpike, while Saoirse-Monica Jackson joins as Professor Trelawney. Other notable voices include Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as Sirius Black, Anna Maxwell Martin as Rita Skeeter, and Mackenzie Crook as Kreacher.
The new generation of Hogwarts students will also feature fresh voices: Jude Farrant and Maximus Evans share the role of Draco Malfoy across the series, while Jake Sigsworth and Archie Mountain split duties as Neville Longbottom. From “Goblet of Fire” onward, Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan, and Nina Barker-Francis will assume the principal roles of Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

Neil Blair, Chairman of Pottermore Publishing, described the project as a “sophisticated, immersive audio experience,” adding, “J.K. Rowling’s storytelling lends itself perfectly to the application of new audiobook technologies… and we’re certain this sophisticated, immersive audio experience will not only add a new listening dimension for existing fans but will introduce a whole new generation of listeners to the Wizarding World.”
Audible plans to release each title monthly beginning with “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” on November 4, 2025, and concluding with “Deathly Hallows” on May 12, 2026.
