Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration is right around the corner and we’re excited to share the news that dinner packages and dessert parties will soon return!

The Disney Parks Blog shared today that new “Appetizing Occasions” will arrive for the start of the celebration on October 1, bringing new dining experiences to the resort’s nighttime spectaculars both in and outside of the theme parks.

Celebration at the Top: 50th Flavors and Fireworks starts at Disney’s Contemporary Resort on October 2, 2021. The event offers Guests an array of specialty cocktails, sushi and small plates, with the elegance we’ve come to expect from California Grill combined with flavors from the resort’s original 1971 menus.

The event takes place in the restaurant’s Sonoma and Napa Rooms, where Guests will have the opportunity to step out onto the resort’s 15th floor observation deck for breathtaking views of the Magic Kingdom’s newest fireworks spectacular. After celebratory cocktails and a showing of Disney Enchantment, enhanced by music synchronized just for this location, Guests can head back inside for petit-fours, cordials and coffee.

Walt Disney World’s 50 anniversary marks the return of special events to the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant! In the park, Guests will find three options for dessert parties where they can experience Disney Enchantment with prime viewing locations from Tomorrowland. Each party includes celebratory desserts created by Disney’s renowned pastry chefs, including chocolate-covered strawberries, butterscotch pudding, and an assortment of specialty cheeses. Drink selections for each event are expected to include beer and wine for Guests 21 years of age and older.

The Disney Enchantment Pre-Party will begin October 3, and will include the above offerings prior to the start of the park’s new fireworks show. After indulging in desserts and beverages a Cast Member will escort Guests to a private viewing area in one of the Plaza Gardens to take in Disney Enchantment.

Disney Enchantment Treats & Seats will be the most similar to Magic Kingdom fireworks dessert parties of the past. The event will feature 50th anniversary-inspired desserts and drinks available while Guests view the fireworks from a reserved area of the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. This event also begins on October 3.

The Disney Enchantment After-Party (from Oct. 3) offers reserved standing viewing of the fireworks in one of the Plaza Gardens followed by a dessert party at the Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. Each of these options surely offers something for everyone, but we’re thinking this last one sounds like a magical way to cap off a date night in the Magic Kingdom!

Reservations for the above events will be made available beginning September 17, 2021. We strongly recommend booking your reservations early to ensure you are able to attend the party of your choice as we are unclear at this time what the capacity is for these events.

The Disney Parks Blog also shared that a returning favorite would be back starting  on September 18- Ferrytale Fireworks: A Sparkling Dessert Cruise. For this event, Guests can board one of Disney’s watercraft at the Transportation and Ticket Center to set off for a memorable evening on Seven Seas Lagoon.

While onboard, Guests will find small bites of signature sweets and treats, including a build-your-own mousse, key lime tarts, cupcakes, and specialty beverages (both with and without alcohol offering something for all ages). A kid-friendly ultraviolet scavenger hunt will also be available while onboard, and of course, the event offers unique views of the Magic Kingdom’s fireworks from the water. Reservations for this event are available now.

Over in EPCOT, we’re seeing the return of dinner packages with offerings at the Rose & Crown Dining Room and Spice Road Table to coincide with the park’s new Harmonious nighttime spectacular. Both packages come with enhanced dining and reserved viewing areas for the park’s newest and largest nighttime spectacular.

The Rose & Crown package includes pre-fixe British fare with an appetizer, entree, dessert platter, and even unlimited beverages in this fan-favorite restaurant in World Showcase’s UK pavilion.

The Spice Road Table package in the Morocco pavilion comes with a selection of Mediterranean small plates, like Lamb Kefta, Hummus Fries, and Spiced Chicken, totaling out to two small plates, desserts, and unlimited beverages.

Both new dining packages in EPCOT begin October 1 with reservations opening up on September 23. As always, valid theme park admission and reservations for the day and park of your special event are required.

We are thrilled to see the return of these events and their new additions for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” and we can’t wait to see what else Walt Disney World has in store for us as we near October 1!
