New Dolly Parton Attraction Unveiled During Dollywood Theme Park Hiatus

For fans of Dollywood, the park's seasonal closure can feel like an eternity. That's what makes one recent announcement so exciting.

Nestled in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Dollywood stands out as more than just a theme park—it’s a celebration of Southern culture, music, and craftsmanship, all wrapped in the warmth of Dolly Parton’s signature charm.

Co-owned by Parton and Herschend Family Entertainment, the park seamlessly blends world-class attractions with an authentic tribute to Appalachian heritage, making it one of the most distinctive theme parks in the country.

Thrill-seekers can experience high-speed roller coasters like Lightning Rod, the world’s first launched wooden coaster, or soar above the treetops on Wild Eagle, the country’s first wing coaster. For those looking for a more relaxed ride, the Dollywood Express offers a scenic journey aboard an authentic coal-fired steam train, immersing guests in the beauty of the Smokies.

But Dollywood’s appeal extends far beyond its rides. The park is known for its live entertainment, featuring everything from bluegrass and Southern gospel to full-scale theatrical productions and country music performances that reflect Parton’s deep musical roots. Dollywood is also a food lover’s paradise, with its famous cinnamon bread drawing visitors from around the country.

Meanwhile, the likes of The Dolly Parton Experience and Dolly’s Tennessee Mountain Home offer a personal glimpse into Parton’s life, showcasing her journey from humble beginnings to international superstardom.

With Dollywood currently closed for its annual winter maintenance, there's a severe shortage of Dolly Parton attractions in the world right now. However, visitors eager for a Dolly fix now have a new option.

Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort has unveiled a temporary exhibit showcasing some of Parton’s most iconic outfits. Running from February 6 through March 12, the Dolly Parton Wardrobe Exhibit features 18 standout pieces from her career, including costumes worn during her 2002 Halo & Horns tour and the cover shoot for her 1970 album The Fairest of Them All.

Curated by Rebecca Seaver, Parton's niece and Dollywood's Director of Archive Services, the collection is housed inside the resort’s Acoustic Bar. Guests can visit the exhibit Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., while Friday and Saturday hours extend until 10 p.m.

For Tennessee residents and Dollywood Season Passholders, there’s an extra perk—Thursday night access without the need for a hotel stay or additional purchase. The exhibit is also open to anyone dining at the resort’s restaurants, shopping at its gift stores, or visiting its spa.

While the park remains closed for now, Dollywood is set to reopen on March 14 with the I Will Always Love You Music Festival, followed by the return of Dollywood’s Splash Country on May 10. Until then, this limited-time exhibit offers fans a chance to experience a little bit of Dolly magic before stepping back through the gates of Dollywood itself.
