As paying audience members, we expect performers to give it everything they have. We enter a show hoping to see a three-hour Taylor Swift or Bruce Springsteen concert. But rarely do we get that kind of performance. More often than not, we end up disappointed by the show.
For fans who waited hours to see the final show of the Country Bear Jamboree at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, there was that disappointment, but for the rest of us, we genuinely believe that the bears gave everything they had and couldn’t give any more.
At last year’s D23 Expo, Disney announced the news that the iconic Coun try Bear Jamboree attraction would be closing and replaced with the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Fans quickly lamented the closing of one of the few remaining opening-day attractions at Magic Kingdom.
Guests flocked to see Big Al and friends at Grizzly Hall. But with the end quickly approaching, guests just couldn’t stay away. And finally, on January 26, the attractions came to an end.

The lines at the Country Bear Jamboree started right from the Magic Kingdom rope drop. Earlier in the day, lines reached around 30 minutes for one final look. As it got closing time approached the line wound around Frontierland and all the way to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Eager Disney World audiences sang along as the show came to a close. However, just before one of the final shows for the Country Bear Jamboree, there was a delay. The anamatronics broke down. Cast members kept the line of guests informed, but finally they had to make the call that the Country Bears had given their final performance.
While the Walt Disney World guests were disappointed, they did not leave empty handed. Those who were in line received a Country Bear Musical Jamboree poster as a consultation prize.

The End of an Era
The closing of Country Bear Jamboree, which is nearly the same attraction that opened with Walt Disney World in 1971, marks the end of one of the few remaining Magic Kingdom opening day attractions. The few that are left are Peter Pan’s Flight, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, Liberty Square Riverboat, Hall of Presidents, Tomorrowland Speedway, Walt Disney Railroad, Swiss Faimly Treehouse, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel, Jungle Crusie, It’s a Small World, Haunted Mansion, and Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

While January 27th marks the first day in Magic Kingdom history without the Country Bear Jamboree, other than previous refurbishments, never fear bear fans, Disney is expecting the new show to open in 2024. So it won’t be too long before it will be back again.
We will continue to update this news at Disney Fanatic.
