Only Universal Passholders Can Access This Secret ‘Jaws’ Experience

For fans of Spielberg’s classic thriller Jaws (1975), June 20 isn’t just another summer day—it’s the birthday of a movie that changed cinema forever. And now, 50 years later, Universal Orlando is honoring that milestone with a mysterious Annual Passholder experience that has fans on edge—in a good way.

A mechanical shark emerges from the water near a boat, causing a group of tourists seated in a nearby tour boat to react with excitement and fear. The scene appears to be part of an amusement park attraction at Universal Orlando, with a staff member observing in the background.

On Friday, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Universal Annual Passholders can head over to the UOAP Lounge at Islands of Adventure for a surprise event. That’s all the resort is officially saying for now, keeping the rest of the details tightly sealed.

The ambiguity is part of the charm. Universal’s Passholder Instagram account dropped the teaser earlier this week, prompting wild guesses and mounting excitement. Could we see surprise appearances from Jaws characters? Exclusive collectibles? Or maybe something completely unexpected that only Passholders will get to experience?

Five people ride a green roller coaster, gripping the safety bars and expressing excitement and joy as they speed under a curved, tunnel-like structure—one of the best Islands of Adventure rides. The blurred background adds to the sense of motion.

One thing is certain—whatever it is, it’s likely going to be a memorable nod to one of the most influential films ever made. When Jaws debuted in 1975, it became a global sensation, redefining what summer blockbusters could be. It was the highest-grossing film of its time and a defining moment for Universal Pictures.

Universal Orlando isn’t letting the occasion slip by unnoticed. Throughout the summer, guests can visit the “Little Amity” tribute area in Universal Studios Florida. This nostalgic pop-up calls back to the old Amity Island section of the park, where the beloved Jaws ride once thrilled guests. Expect themed food, a replica of the old boat, and even a few wandering skippers for good measure.

The park’s Mega Movie Parade is also showing love for the film, featuring characters and floats inspired by Jaws in a bigger-than-life celebration of cinematic history.

Passholders already got a taste of the themed celebration back in May with a special UOAP Jaws magnet, but Friday’s event seems primed to go beyond a simple souvenir. With the film’s legacy in mind, Universal might be preparing to deliver something fans will talk about for years.

Whether you’re a longtime fan or a new admirer of Spielberg’s classic, this celebration is shaping up to be something truly special. Just don’t let it swim by without you.
