Our Favorite Sweet Treats at Walt Disney World Parks

Dole Whip grocery stores

If you have a sweet tooth, a Walt Disney World vacation willnotdisappoint you! With sweet shops, candy counters in resort shops, ice cream stands and snack carts stationed around parks full of goodies; you may have a difficult time choosing which treat to try on your Disney vacation. This article highlights some of our favorite sweet treats at Walt Disney World. Is your favorite Disney treat on the list below?

1. Dipped Apples – Candy Counters Around the Property

Walt Disney World takes dipped apples to the next level. Sure there are classic candy and caramel apples in shops, but there are also dipped apples that are pretty amazing works of art. Character themed chocolate and caramel dipped apples are guest favorites. While classic design staples like Mickey and Minnie apples can almost always be found in candy cases, some apple themes vary based on Disney film releases and season.  Candy counters are glad to slice and package apples for guests so you can easily share it with the family and enjoy it in the park or later at your resort hotel room.

2. Cupcakes - Candy Counters Around the Property

There are no shortage of gorgeous cupcakes at candy counters around the property.  I love enjoying themed cupcakes during seasonal visits to the park and during Disney race weekends.  Cupcakes are a good snack value, generally costing around $6.00 for a cupcake large enough for sharing. Breaking from the parks to enjoy a cupcake at Contempo Café in The Contemporary Resort or at BoardWalk Bakery at Disney’s Boardwalk are great places to enjoy cupcakes at Walt Disney World.

3. Dole Whip – Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom & Pineapple Lanai at Polynesian Village Resort

Dole Whips have become increasingly popular in vintage Disney merchandise and park pop culture in the last few years. Drop by Sunshine Tree Terrace in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland to try one. These delicious treats are served up as soft serve or as a pineapple juice float.  Do not skip a Dole Whip on your next Disney vacation.  Did you know there is a place outside The Magic Kingdom that guests can enjoy this iconic Disney treat? If you want a break from the parks, hop on the monorail to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and enjoy a Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai near the pool.

4. Caramel Corn – Karamell-Kuche, German Pavilion in Epcot

If you are headed to Epcot, do not skip a visit to Karamell-Kuche in World Showcase’s Germany pavilion! This shop is chock full of caramel coated treats but our favorite is by far the caramel corn. For a great price, you can snag a small bag of warm and fresh caramel corn that is still large enough for sharing.
