While Hollywood Studios is going through its transformation to include Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land, the attractions at Hollywood Studios aren’t what are drawing us to the park. The variety of themed dining options available are what we want to spend our time doing when we visit this park. There are a variety of snack carts, counter-service options, and table-service restaurants to choose from, but here our are top five picks for restaurants at Hollywood Studios!
5 – Mama Melrose’s Italian Ristorante – located behind MuppetVision 3D and the Streets of America, this restaurant offers guests choices of classic American and Italian food. It is relatively easy to get in here without a reservation. Mama Melrose’s is also one of the restaurants that participates in the Fantasmic dinner package giving guests the ability to have a great meal AND enjoy one of the best nighttime shows at Disney World. We also LOVE the portion sizes here – they are gigantic, so you are guaranteed not to leave hungry. The price is also reasonable and they do accept the Tables in Wonderland dining discount card!
4 – 50’s Prime Time Café – located in the Echo Park area of the park, 50’s Prime Time Café offers great food and fantastic nostalgia! Guests are transported back to the 1950s. A floor-model television greets guests inside the front door and guests will be dining a old-style kitchen tables surrounded with ecletic kitsch throughout the restaurant. The food is great, but we also like the comedy that comes with a meal here from the wonderful and talented waitstaff, who will refer to you as “cousins” and they will make sure you use proper manners and clean your plate!
3 – Hollywood and Vine – the sole buffet option at Hollywood Studios, guests dining here also can meet and greet with characters from the Disney Junior line-up. Of all the buffets we have sampled here, we love breakfast here because you get the classic Disney favorites, but there are also some good additions to it as well. Hollywood and Vine also plays host to special dining options throughout the year – it is currently home to Minnie’s Springtime Dine menu allowing guests to enjoy more classic American options like barbecued meatballs, lobster mac and cheese, and buffalo baked chicken! We can’t wait to try this limited menu!
2 – The Hollywood Brown Derby – this fancy option may be a choice for mom and dad on a night out without the kids as the menu selections are more refined, but they do have a children’s menu. We love the quiet ambiance that you can find at restaurant at times. We also love ordering the classic Cobb salad. We have recently taken to enjoying our meals outside on the small patio that offers wonderful views of guests enjoying the park around the central hub area. We also love the grapefruit cake that they serve for dessert – you’ll definitely want to save room for that!
1 – Sci-Fi Dine-In – Sci-Fi Dine-In is one of the best themed restaurants in Disney World. We love stopping by here on our trips for some classic drive-in fare. It can be difficult to get in here, so make sure to try and grab a reservation here. Some people don’t think the food is anything fantastic, and while we will agree that it isn’t terribly inventive, it always satisfies our pangs of hunger when we stop in – we love getting the fried pickles as a starter!
We know that Disney is planning a renovation to Pizza Planet, as well as the addition of a Star Wars-themed cantina, so this list could be in for some upheaval in the near future. We are also curious to see if any new quick-service options are added to the park in these new areas, but we will just have to wait and see, but for now, we will definitely be making some more reservations for these restaurants in the future. What is your go to choice for a place to grab a bite at Hollywood Studios?
