The success of animated series like Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory has proven that the Jurassic franchise can also thrive on the small screen. Both shows expanded the storylines introduced in the films, building rich worlds that fans have eagerly explored.
A live-action series, however, would take things to the next level, offering cinematic-quality thrills in a more episodic format.
The Jurassic universe has already dabbled in live-action storytelling outside the main films. The short film Battle at Big Rock provided a glimpse of life after dinosaurs broke free from Isla Nublar, giving fans a taste of what a live-action TV series might look like. The franchise has also consistently delivered high-quality storytelling, from its 1993 blockbuster beginnings to its most recent installment, Jurassic World: Dominion.
Should the series come to fruition, it could explore a variety of directions. Previous fan theories suggested a focus on the underground dinosaur black market, a concept briefly touched on in Fallen Kingdom and Dominion. However, if true, it could now dive into the new era promised by the upcoming movie Jurassic World Rebirth, which releases in theaters in 2025.
Peacock has been making bold moves to secure exclusive content, and adding Jurassic World to its roster would be a smart play. With its combination of nostalgic appeal and thrilling new possibilities, a live-action Jurassic series could become one of the streaming platform’s marquee offerings.
Although Universal hasn’t announced anything, the mere idea of such a project has already sparked excitement among fans who dream of seeing dinosaurs on TV in ways they’ve never imagined. Until then, the countdown continues for Jurassic World Rebirth, and audiences remain hopeful that more Jurassic adventures are on the horizon.
When Can I Watch Jurassic World Rebirth?
