Where Has Season One Led Us So Far?
In the most recent episode, released on January 30, 2024, Percy challenged the god Ares to a fight, by the end of which the twelve-year-old demigod made an enemy for life. Percy then travels to Mount Olympus—on top of the Empire State Building—and returns the Lightning Bolt to Zeus.
Initially, Zeus intends to continue his war, but Poseidon surrenders, and the two agree to share the threat of Kronos with the Council.
After this, Percy returns to camp and confronts Luke Castellan (Charlie Bushnell), son of Hermes (Lin Manuel Miranda), accusing him of being the Lightning Thief. Luke doesn’t deny this, and the two spar. Luke subdues Percy, but Annabeth shows herself—she’d been invisible the whole time—and Percy is saved, and Luke flees.

Has Percy Jackson and the Olympians Been Confirmed for Season 2?
The short answer? Not quite yet.
Disney has not officially announced a second season for the popular show, but honestly, from where we’re sitting, it’s a no-brainer. The show has been hugely popular and has given Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+, some of its best numbers in a long time.
(The television Percy Jackson series was certainly much more popular than the Percy Jackson films featuring Logan Lerman.)
Additionally, as Forbes reported, “The creators of the Disney+ series said their intention is to create five seasons—one for each of the books.”
What Could Happen in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2?
The second season of the show, if it does come to pass, will likely be adapting the second book in Riordan’s series, Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters.
Here’s the synopsis of the book:
“When Thalia’s tree is mysteriously poisoned, the magical borders of Camp Half-Blood begin to fail. Now Percy and his friends have just days to find the only magic item powerful to save the camp before it is overrun by monsters. The catch: they must sail into the Sea of Monsters to find it. Along the way, Percy must stage a daring rescue operation to save his old friend Grover, and he learns a terrible secret about his own family, which makes him question whether being the son of Poseidon is an honor or a curse.”
Who Will Be in the Cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2?
The season will bring back our old favorites—Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri), Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell), and Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries)—and also introduce some new fan-favorite characters.
Season one also saw Lin Manuel Miranda play Hermes, Charlie Bushnell play Luke Castellan, and Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson, among a larger cast. It’s likely many of these actors will reprise their roles once again.
One thing that’s important to note with the release of the second season of Percy Jackson is that while it doesn’t have many reasons to be delayed, it could be pushed back due to delays from the Writers Strike in 2023.
This said, executive producer Jon Steinberg confirmed to Deadline in December 2023 that there have been “discussions” about moving forward. “I think everyone has a real hope that this will live a long and healthy life. Right now, we’re trying to deal with step one. But we’d be lying if we said there weren’t people who are thinking about step two right now.”
More on Percy Jackson
From Disney+, “Percy Jackson is on a dangerous quest. Outrunning monsters and outwitting gods, he must journey across America to return Zeus’ master bolt and stop an all-out war. With the help of his quest mates Annabeth and Grover, Percy’s journey will lead him closer to the answers he seeks: how to fit into a world where he feels out of place, and find out who he’s destined to be.”
Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are the showrunners. Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson series, also had much more creative control over the series than its film predecessors, featuring Logan Lerman and Alexandra Daddario, and was an executive producer on the show.
