Photos: This Magical Snow White-Inspired Cottage is Now on the Market

It might not come with animals to help with the housework, but a gorgeous cottage reminiscent of Walt Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) is on the market! This fairytale-inspired cottage just went up for sale in Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles with a listing price of $1,395,000. Let’s take a look inside!

Realtor.com shared the listing that shows the three-story, two-bed, one-and-a-half-bath home complete with interior and exterior photos. The house was constructed in 1938 (so it is very possible that the design was directly inspired by Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs since the Walt Disney Animation Studios film only premiered one year earlier).

The home, fit for a Disney princess, will give its next resident a place to stay nearby the city while still retaining a rural appearance and modern amenities. The entire house was inspired by the architecture of Roland E. Hill, who you may know as the architecture behind Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland.

Following the fairytale theme, the home features turrets, spiral stone staircases, bridges, exposed timber beams, and multiple balconies with expansive views. Inside, award-winning designer Joshua Cain has updated the space with modern details still reminiscent of a classic fairytale cottage with detailed woodwork and stained glass window designs in the living room.

The rustic fairytale design is beautiful for sure, but any $1 million+ home needs to come with modern amenities and thankfully this one does! Interior upgrades include a fully remodeled shower in the full bathroom, smart home heating and cooling in both bedrooms, and a full set of new, modern appliances. These modern additions do not take away from the cottage’s charm however as they seamlessly blend in with the rest of the design.

More traditional features on the home include a hand-carved wooden balcony, fireplace, and cabinets that look very similar to ones Snow White herself would likely find in a magical cottage. Outside, the home features two gardens, and a year with a pond, waterfall, bridge, and the ability to add a hot tub if its next owners so choose.

This storybook cottage is a great design for Disney fans looking for something still themed to a classic fairytale but still featuring modern amenities and lots of understated details. The price point, while likely high for most of areas across the country (especially for a two-bedroom home…) is on par with other homes in the neighborhood for the size, and amenities, but only this home comes with such a magical theme!
