One of Disney World’s more upscale dining locations is about to offer guests a new reason to visit without committing to an entire meal.
Beginning September 14, The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk will introduce a weekday happy hour featuring drinks, small bites, and a specialty dessert-inspired shake.
For guests who have looked at the restaurant’s prices and decided to keep walking, this could make stopping inside a little more appealing.
Some desserts at The Cake Bake Shop reach around $22, so visiting the restaurant can quickly turn into an expensive afternoon treat. Happy hour could provide another way to see what the popular BoardWalk location has to offer.
The New Offering Runs Four Days a Week
Guests won’t find this happy hour every afternoon.
The Cake Bake Shop will offer it Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., beginning September 14.
The special menu will be limited to the bar and bar lounge rather than being offered across the entire restaurant.
That setup could make happy hour feel considerably different from a traditional meal at The Cake Bake Shop.
Instead of planning around a lengthy lunch or dinner, guests can make it an afternoon stop. The three-hour window also falls at a convenient time for visitors looking to escape the parks for a while before evening plans begin.
Guests visiting EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios could potentially make their way toward the BoardWalk during the afternoon. Those already staying around Crescent Lake will have an even easier opportunity to check it out.
Small Bites, Cocktails, Wine, and a Cake Shake
The Cake Bake Shop hasn’t released every item coming to its new happy hour menu, but several details have already been announced.
Guests can expect a selection of signature cocktails and wines along with small bites.
Promotional material for the new offering shows French fries and hamburger sliders, giving visitors an early idea of the type of food that could be available.
Perhaps the most fitting addition is the specialty Cake Bake Cake Shake.
The Cake Bake Shop has built much of its reputation around sweets and elaborate desserts, so it makes sense that the new afternoon menu will still have something for guests looking for a sugary treat.
What we don’t know yet is how much these items will cost.
The restaurant hasn’t released happy hour prices, meaning guests will need to wait before knowing whether the new offering represents a significant savings compared to the regular menu.
This Could Change How Guests Visit
