Guest Reports Hearing Gun Shots at Disney’s Old Key West Resort
Recently, a Disney Guest shared the story. The Guest shared that they heard a “defeating” noise from the room next to theirs, which turned out to be a gunshot. They reported that the man allegedly died by suicide. They elaborated further,
Scared the shit out of us I thought someone shot through the window. We assumed golf ball cracked through the window or someone set off a firecracker inside the room. They where in the attached deluxe studio to our one bedroom.
The Guest reported that Disney did everything to try and keep the Guest and their family out of the room, but they couldn’t get over the noise. They added, “It scared my one year old and newborn to death.”
Disney reportedly also made an effort to make the Guests’ stay more magical: “Chef mickeys even kept us later and did extra magic.”
However, one Guest checked in about whether Disney moved the family to another villa, and the Guest shared that wasn’t the case. When asked about it, they explained, “No! Which was insane! They completely didn’t say much after we returned but said to contact Disney experience when we checked out.”

The thread featured further stories from other Disney Guests about how death by suicide is allegedly far more common at the Disney Parks. However, Disney makes an effort to “[keep] it out of the news.”
