Rare After-Dark Access Returns to Animal Kingdom With Exclusive Event

Disney’s Animal Kingdom doesn’t usually get much love after sunset. While Magic Kingdom and EPCOT welcome nighttime crowds with fireworks and light shows, Animal Kingdom tends to shut its gates early. That’s disappointing for many fans who know just how breathtaking the park looks when night falls.

But rare evening access is on the horizon once again, thanks to Disney Vacation Club.

The Long-Awaited Return

Disney Vacation Club is bringing back Moonlight Magic to Animal Kingdom, offering its members the chance to explore the park after dark. The events are scheduled for October 29, November 18, and December 15, 2025, and will return on January 20, 2026.

For fans of the park, this is more than just a late-night perk. It’s a chance to experience Animal Kingdom the way it was meant to be seen—Pandora glowing, Everest looming in the dark, and the natural theming taking on a whole new energy.

What Moonlight Magic Offers

Moonlight Magic is an exclusive after-hours event that transforms the park into a near-private experience. Guests can walk onto attractions with shorter waits, enjoy live entertainment, meet characters rarely seen in the parks, and indulge in complimentary treats. It’s Disney magic at its most intimate, and for many, it’s the best way to experience Animal Kingdom.

The Catch

Of course, this isn’t something every park guest can enjoy. Moonlight Magic is limited to eligible Disney Vacation Club members who meet specific requirements. Registration opens in phases, and attendance is capped to keep the event from being overcrowded. Members are allowed to bring along a handful of guests, but the exclusivity remains a defining feature.

Why Fans Care

While this news may leave some guests wishing they could take part, the return of nighttime hours at Animal Kingdom is still worth celebrating. It underscores just how special the park is after dark and keeps the dream alive that maybe one day Disney will make evening access more common.

For now, the opportunity belongs to the select group of DVC members who secure a spot. And for those lucky few, Animal Kingdom at night is going to feel more magical than ever.
