Have you ever dreamed of traveling the world, but still getting the magic of a Disney vacation? Then joining the Disney Vacation Club may be the right decision for you! The Disney Vacation Club lets Guests book vacations at Disney theme parks like Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. But it also lets them travel to exotic locations like the Panama Canal, Antarctica, and the Amazon. Disney Vacation Club members can also travel on the Disney Cruise Line and take trips with Adventures By Disney.
To become a Disney Vacation Club member, the Guest has to purchase a certain number of points to start, and a place to use those points — like a DVC room at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. Those points can be used on their trips. Additional points can also be purchased. The number of minimum points needed to join DVC may vary, but right now, Disney is offering one heck of a deal. According to DVC News, Guests can join Disney Vacation Club for just a 100-point purchase.
Here’s more from DVC News:
According to signs posted at Disney Vacation Club booths around Walt Disney World, new members can get into the program with a purchase of just 100 vacation points. The number of points required to buy-in has proven rather fluid over the years. At one time, the minimum purchase was as high as 230 points. Other times it has been set at 200 points, 160 and 150 points. Approximately 10 years ago, DVC also promoted a 100-point buy-in.
At this time, it is not known if the 100-point minimum purchase applies to all Walt Disney World hotel locations. The signs with the special offer only state that the points may be used at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Riviera Resort, and Aulani: A Disney Resort & Spa. The offer is not yet available at Disneyland Resort in California, but is expected to be offered soon.
While only 100 points are required for purchase to become a member of the Disney Vacation Club, there is still a minimum purchase of 150 points if the new member would like to be able to take advantage of DVC purchase discounts. A 150-point minimum purchase is also required if the Guest wants to be able to unlock the Membership Extras, which include exclusive perks and benefits.
