“Welcome Home” are two simple words that are music to Disney Vacation Club Members’ ears! Being a DVC member is like having a slice of Disney all to yourself, as the vacation timeshare has made stays on Disney property and around the globe possible for Disney many fans.

When COVID closed experiences in 2020, the Disney Vacation Club VIP location knowns as Top of the World Lounge was no exception. Now, over two years later, the lounge has yet to reopen to DVC members.

With Disney Vacation Club being extra busy with the announcement of DVC Villas opening at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa and a new tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, we’ve been curious as to why the Top of the World Lounge above Disney’s Bay Lake Tower has yet to open.

At EPCOT, Disney Vacation Club members can still take advantage of the Imagination Pavilion Lounge which offers excellent views of EPCOT, complimentary Coca-Cola products, and a space to sit and rest with air-conditioning.

But, still Top of the World Lounge has remained closed… and now we know why!

Disney Vacation Club members received an email with their Member Insider newsletter that announced Top of the World Lounge is being reimagined.

The email noted, “The reimagined Top of the World Lounge will reopen soon for Members and their Guests! Perched atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, this one-of-a-kind space boasts can’t-miss views of Magic Kingdom Park. Stay tuned for more details.”

The pre-COVID space was small but packed with a perfect VIP experience. A Cast Member at Bay Lake Tower would check for DVC Membership and then send Guests up the 16th floor via the elevator. Once exiting the elevator, DVC Members and their invited friends could look out over the top of Bay Lake Tower with stunning views of Magic Kingdom Park.

Top of the World Lounge was also an excellent place to spot the Magic Kingdom fireworks without being in the Park or paying the dinner prices at California Grill restaurant.

The lounge always had the very best bartenders at the full bar that Guests could pay to have a drink and delicious appetizers. It was that perfect, almost hidden getaway.

We’re curious to see what the reimagined Top of the World Lounge will look like! As Disney Vacation Club Members, we’ll be sure to check it out as soon as Disney releases details on when the lounge will reopen.
