He is definitely Kenough.

Just days before Christmas, Ryan Gosling has given Barbie fans an early Christmas gift. On December 20, Gosling shocked fans when he unveiled “Ken: The EP.” EP stands for Extended Play, which means that there is more than one song on the album, but fewer songs than a full album would have. And each song on “Ken: The EP” is a winner.

This brand-new EP, of course, features “I’m Just Ken”, which fans could not get enough of after Barbie was released on July 21. There are also three brand-new versions of “I’m Just Ken” for fans to obsess over. “Ken: The EP” includes  “I’m Just Ken (Merry Kristmas Barbie),” “I’m Just Ken (In My Feelings Acoustic)” and “I’m Just Ken (Purple Disco Machine Remix).”

But the news gets even better. There is also a music video — and you can watch it below! The music video also features Barbie composers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.

While it seems crazy to think of anyone else playing Barbie’s famous boyfriend, there was a little bit of blowback when the first Barbie trailer was released. There were some who thought that the 43-year-old actor was too old for the role.

Gosling took the criticism with a grain of salt and some humor. In an interview with GQ, Gosling said that no one had really seemed to care about Ken before now. But now that he was on the big screen, suddenly people acted like it was a big deal.

“I would say, you know, if people don’t want to play with my Ken, there are many other Kens to play with.”

“It is funny, this kind of clutching-your-pearls idea of, like, #notmyken. Like you ever thought about Ken before this?” As he said earlier, this is a guy whose job is beach.

“And everyone was fine with that, for him to have a job that is nothing. But suddenly, it’s like, ‘No, we’ve cared about Ken this whole time.’ No, you didn’t. You never did. You never cared. Barbie never f***ed with Ken. That’s the point. If you ever really cared about Ken, you would know that nobody cared about Ken. So your hypocrisy is exposed. This is why his story must be told.”

“I’m Just Ken” is so much more than just another song in a summer blockbuster. After Barbie’s release, the song shot into the top five of Billboard’s Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. It has also been streamed more than 100 million times.

If that’s not impressive enough, “I’m Just Ken” has been nominated for a Golden Globe Award and a Critics Choice Award. Barbie The Album was nominated for a whopping 11 Grammy Awards.

Barbie also starred Margot Robbie as the titular doll, Kate McKinnon as Weird Barbie, Simu Liu as Ken, America Ferrera as Gloria, and Will Ferrell as the Mattel CEO. The film was directed by Greta Gerwig and written by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach.
