Today is President’s Day, and who better to celebrate the holiday with than Sam Eagle from the Muppets? The Disney Parks social media team met up with Sam Eagle himself to ask the iconic Muppet if he had any plans for celebrating the holiday in Disneyland Resort, and just shared the comical conversation on Twitter!

Sam Eagle is a Muppet character from Muppet shows and movies like The Muppets Show (1976-1981) and Muppets Most Wanted (2014).
When asked by an anonymous Disney Cast Member about Disneyland Resort, Sam Eagle said that “it’s the most Patriotic Place on Earth” (deliberately confusing it with Disneyland’s status as the Happiest Place on Earth”).

The Muppet cited Disneyland locations like Main Street, U.S.A. as patriotic locations, describing the patriotic experience of “saluting as they raise the flag in the town square” as well as “floating along the Rivers of America”.

When asked about his favorite thing to do in Disneyland, Sam Eagle said that his favorite Disneyland activity was “setting [his] own personal record for consecutive viewings of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln”. This is not a surprising choice, since he’s an American history buff!

The Muppets continue to have a big following even after decades onscreen, with a new Halloween special on Disney+ as of last October (shown above), and it doesn’t look like that Muppet momentum is slowing down!
