For many families, meeting Santa Claus at Walt Disney World Resort is a holiday tradition. From parades down Main Street to festive appearances in EPCOT’s World Showcase, his presence is woven into the fabric of the season. This year, however, one of the most anticipated meet-and-greets will come with a new, eyebrow-raising cost.
The Cake Bake Shop, a restaurant on Disney’s BoardWalk, is charging $200 per adult and $150 per child for its “Dinner with Santa” event.

That price point immediately set it apart from the usual holiday offerings on Disney property, sparking conversations among fans already grappling with costly seasonal add-ons. The dining event is not run by Disney itself, but the association with the resort has thrust it into the spotlight.
Holiday Pricing at Walt Disney World Resort
Disney’s holiday season has long carried a premium. Ticketed after-hours events often become the centerpiece of a family trip, layering additional costs onto an already expensive vacation. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, for instance, runs on select nights at Magic Kingdom and costs $169 to $229 per ticket.
The event includes Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade (featuring the internet-famous Tally the Elf), holiday-themed fireworks, stage shows, and “snowfall” on Main Street U.S.A. Guests also enjoy complimentary cookies and hot cocoa — a small perk when compared with the steep ticket price.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney's Jollywood Nights offers a glitzier alternative. The party features big band music, specialty cocktails, character appearances, and stage shows. Tickets cost $159 to $199. Last year’s debut included performances with the Muppets, a holiday singalong, and rare character meet-and-greets.
Even EPCOT’s Festival of the Holidays, technically included with admission, comes with its own paywalls. Dining packages for the Candlelight Processional range from $41 to $110, securing a seat for celebrity narrators as they recount the Christmas story.
$200 Santa Claus Experience
Against this backdrop, The Cake Bake Shop’s Santa event sets a new threshold.
Scheduled for November 18, November 25, December 2, and December 9, it includes a three-course dinner. Adults begin with Champagne and cocktails, while entrées range from beef bourguignon to roasted chicken. Desserts are seasonal.
Children can choose from chicken tenders, cheeseburger sliders, or pasta. Each guest receives up to three drinks, a keepsake photo with Santa via Disney PhotoPass, and a small gift.

The Cake Bake Shop has already built a reputation for eyebrow-raising prices. When it opened in 2024, fans balked at a $23 slice of cake — significantly higher than its other locations outside Disney property. Following backlash, some menu items were lowered, with eggs Benedict reduced from $23 to $19.99 and a baguette dropping from $12 to $8.99.
Still, the Santa Claus event underscores the restaurant’s premium strategy. And unlike other Disney dining, reservations must be made directly through the Cake Bake Shop website. Disney gift cards are not accepted.
Other Ways to Meet Santa
Families unwilling to spend hundreds of dollars still have opportunities to see Santa across Walt Disney World Resort. At Disney Springs, Santa’s Marketplace uses a virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app. At EPCOT, Santa will appear inside CommuniCore Hall this year, alongside international counterparts such as Père Noël in France, Father Christmas in the United Kingdom, and Barn Santa in Norway.
In 2024, Santa appeared at Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom, though construction on the new Tropical Americas land may change that location in 2025. Hollywood Studios previously hosted him at It’s a Wonderful Shop, now closed as Grand Avenue transforms into a Monsters, Inc. land.

He also surfaces at Blizzard Beach during festive seasons and plays a prominent role in Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
After the event concludes, Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade transitions into Magic Kingdom’s daily entertainment lineup, ensuring Santa remains central to the park’s holiday programming.
