Every Enjoy Your Face kiosk in the theme parks keeps running exactly as it has been. Nobody is taking face painting away from Walt Disney World.
Okay, But Why Does a Kiosk Matter
Look, on paper this is tiny news. A face paint stand closes. Who cares.
Parents care, and the reason is uncomfortable once you actually count.
Here is basically everything a kid can do at Disney Springs: run through the splash fountains, build something at the LEGO Store, ride the Marketplace carousel, ride the little train, and get dragged past Happy Hound until you buy a stuffed animal.
That is the list. Everything else in the district is a store you walk through or a restaurant where you sit and wait for food.
Face painting was doing something none of those do. It ate time. Fifteen, twenty minutes of a kid parked in a chair, getting attention from an adult who is not you, walking away thrilled with their own face.
Any parent who has hit hour three of a Disney Springs afternoon with a melting five year old knows exactly what that kiosk was for.
It was not a souvenir. It was a pressure valve.
Nothing else there does that job.
And Seven Permits Just Dropped
Different story, same week, worth knowing.
Walt Disney World filed seven construction permits for Disney Springs on Tuesday, September 22.
The big one covers the footbridge over the lagoon that connects Marketplace and Town Center. Buena Vista Construction Company listed as contractor, general construction.
The rest hit Paddlefish, Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant, UNIQLO, The LEGO Store, the Happy Hound merchandise kiosk, and The BOATHOUSE.
All seven expire September 21, 2027. Disney has said nothing about any of them.
Here is how to read those, though. They came from Disney's Facility Asset Management Team, which handles maintenance and refurbishment work. Anything that would actually change what a place is usually goes through Walt Disney Imagineering instead.
So: upkeep, probably. Not a reinvention.
Still, two of those seven are The LEGO Store and Happy Hound, which are literally on the short list of kid stuff in the district. Make of that what you want.
Nobody has connected any of it to the face painting closure. Separate things landing in the same week.
If You Push a Stroller, Watch the Bridge
That footbridge permit is the one that could actually change your day.
No closure announced. But if the bridge does go down for maintenance, the backup is the land route between Marketplace and Town Center, and it is long.
Totally fine on your own two feet. A completely different situation with a stroller, a diaper bag, and a kid who checked out forty minutes ago.
Do This Before Saturday
Want one last design? The kiosk runs through end of day September 26.
After that, hit the theme park locations, which are operating normally.
