Disneyland Paris Resort is in the news again for blocking off yet another theme park castle. Here's what European Disney Park guests need to know.
Sleeping Beauty Castle Gets Walled Off

Construction barriers went up around the Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge at Disneyland Park earlier this week, marking the start of a refurbishment project expected to run through late September 2026. X (formerly Twitter) user @DLPReport documented the current state of the Disney Park icon, sharing photos alongside this update:
🔧 The Sleeping Beauty Castle bridge refurbishment includes walls on the front and inside the Castle, with the walkthrough remaining open. Water levels are lower in the moat, and the inflatable projection screen is permanently installed in the doorway.

Despite the construction presence, guests aren't completely locked out. The castle walkthrough and La Tanière du Dragon — or “The Lair of the Dragon” — are both remaining open for the duration of the project, though visitors will need to take alternate pathways to reach them.
A Second Castle Goes Down

Less than a week later, another Disneyland Park castle was taken offline. Alice's Curious Labyrinth, the Fantasyland walkthrough attraction, closed for refurbishment on May 6. Work is already underway on the Queen of Hearts Castle building inside. @DLPReport once again shared photos of the shuttered attraction:
🔧 Alice's Curious Labyrinth is now closed for refurbishment until July 3, with work already started on the Queen of Hearts Castle. It's the summer of Castle refurbishments 😬

According to Disneyland Paris Resort's official website, the attraction is scheduled to reopen on July 4, 2026. The park hasn't offered details beyond a standard refurbishment designation, and major changes to the experience when it reopens aren't anticipated.

With two castles down in under a week, Fantasyland is looking a little different this summer.
