Selfie Sticks will be banned at Walt Disney World and Disneyland starting June 30 2015.

Selfie Stick

There has been a lot of discussion these last few weeks about “selfie” stick use in Disney parks and today Disney has finally spoken.

Starting June 30, 2015 selfie sticks will not be permitted inside the Walt Disney parks. Guest relations cast members will be on hand to store the selfie sticks during the day.

This policy will extend to Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong starting on July 1, 2015.

Disney World already prohibits items such as skateboards, inline skates, wagon, folding chairs and glass containers, according to its official website, which also lists “other items that we determine may be harmful or disruptive.”
