Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye has officially closed at Disneyland Resort, leaving guests without a confirmed timeline for when the beloved Adventureland attraction might reopen.
The Closure Guests Were Expecting
Disneyland Resort first confirmed plans for this closure in late July, announcing that Indiana Jones Adventure would close for refurbishment on September 8, 2026. The ride has undergone a gradual revitalization over the past several years, part of an ongoing effort by the Southern California park to restore and enhance the classic attraction — including bringing back its iconic boulder scene.
That work has included multiple smaller updates in recent memory. In 2025, the ride's preshow returned after a five-year absence. Then, in January 2026, Walt Disney Imagineers repaired a long-broken mid-ride bridge effect and refreshed props located near the attraction's exit.
No Firm Reopening Timeline Yet
Disneyland Resort's official website currently instructs guests to “check back” for updates on the attraction. The park's operational calendar, which currently extends through October 20, doesn't list any operating hours for Indiana Jones Adventure during that window.
WDW News Today shared a photo on Facebook showing signage now posted at the closed attraction, reading “Attention! Not Offering Tours Today” and “Coming Soon! Temple Tours Will Begin Again This Fall.”
Additional signage on the wooden fence blocking the ride entrance reads:
“Coming soon!
Join me on a most splendid tour of the Temple of the Forbidden Eye, with an opportunity to partake in the Fabled Blessings of Mara: eternal youth, great wealth, or a glimpse into the future. What could be more delightful? Tours begin in Fall of 1935!
