Disney princesses are frequent presences in Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort — but according to People, an unofficial Disney princess just stopped by as well!
Meet the Olympics’ “Disney Princess”
Olympic gymnast Shawn Johnson is a gymnast who made waves back in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and particularly excelled when it came to the vault and the balance beam, winning the Olympic gold medal for balance beam as well as the silver medals in the team, floor exercise, and all-around categories.
Shawn Johnson and her teammates Nastia Liukin and Alicia Sacramone became fan favorites during those Olympics, and Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin both went on to make guest appearances in ABC Family shows like Make It or Break It and The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Johnson also won season eight of Dancing With the Stars, a show that is now hosted by another familiar face from the Disney and ABC community!
The First Trip of Its Kind
The retired Olympian became known for her sunny disposition and Disney princess-like qualities, and now she has just gotten closer to that Disney princess status with her family’s first visit to Disney World in Florida!
Johnson was spotted in the Magic Kingdom (and posted about the trip on social media) with her husband Andrew East as well as her son (who is named Jett James) and her daughter (who is named Drew Hazel).
The children greatly enjoyed the trip, according to Shawn Johnson, although she “was the crazy mom that put sunscreen on them 27 times” and interrupted their fun.
This is certainly a pleasant surprise, since we’ve seen so many complaints from Disney Guests about their Disney World or Disneyland vacations as of late!

Johnson and her family also came to Walt Disney World Resort in a unique way! The Olympian and her family flew on a small plane, with Johnson’s husband serving as one of the plane’s pilots.
“If kids are onboard or both of us (both parents), even though Andrew CAN fly us solo we always have a second pilot to be extra cautious,” Johnson confirmed on social media.
Would you like to fly to Disney World on a private plane and create some magical memories for your children like this Olympian just did?
