shopDisney Update: New Tiana Dress Joins the Disney Dress Shop Collection

The Dress Shop offers some of the most fashionable Disney looks, with many pieces inspired by Walt Disney World or Disneyland theme park attractions, Disney Princess films, classic animated films, and more. While you can find the full Dress Shop collection in Disney Parks, some of our favorite pieces have made their way to shopDisney, including this brand new Tiana dress inspired by Disney’s The Princess and the Frog (2009).

The newest dress in the Dress Shop collection takes us all the way “down to New Orleans,” and offers a more modern take on the traditionally vintage-style dresses with a form-fitted design, flutter sleeves, and iconic artwork showcasing some memorable designs from the Disney animated film.

The subtlety of the designs on the skirt portion of the dress showcasing Princess Tiana‘s tiara and lily pads as seen in the movie are beautiful and would easily appeal to fans of the film while being understated enough to wear to any occasion, whether at a Disney Park, or in your hometown. (It would also make a gorgeous Dapper Day ensemble if you happen to be visiting Disneyland or Walt Disney World for the occasion and looking for the perfect dress!)

Another small detail on the dress that we absolutely love is Tiana’s gold, embroidered signature on the back. It’s a little touch that has a bigger impact in adding something just a little extra special to the dress, and for a statement piece at this price point, those small details are very appreciated.

Like all Dress Shop dresses, the new Tiana dress runs XS to 3X, and from our experience, we have found that pieces in this collection typically run true to size based on your measurements listed in the size chart. The Princess and the Frog-inspired dress is priced at $128, which is typical for new dresses in this collection.

If you are hoping to pick up The Princess and the Frog dress or any other Dress Shop pieces, we would recommend ordering them when they are new as there have been occasions where they sell out quickly and are phased out shortly after, especially to order from shopDisney. You can sometimes have luck finding discounted dresses at the Disney Character Warehouse outlet locations, however, it is difficult to predict what designs or sizes will end up there so we do not recommend planning to purchase from the outlets.

This dress is a great addition to the Disney Dress Shop line as we are all about more clothing items inspired by The Princess and the Frog. While we have not seen accessories added to the site yet, we would love to see some new pieces featuring Princess Tiana on the site, too.
