It has been an exciting couple of weeks for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge with the birth of a baby zebra and preparations for the holidays underway. Animal Kingdom Lodge is my personal favorite resort to visit for the holidays- I love stopping by to check out the gorgeous Christmas tree and other decorations in the resort lobby and spending some time exploring the grounds and seeing some animals. Of course, stopping for dinner at Boma or Sanaa doesn’t hurt, too!
In the long list of holiday foodie news just released by the Disney Parks Blog, we would be remiss not to share the specials coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge…
At Sanaa, Guests can order a Chocolate Peppermint Ornament with Ghanaian dark chocolate mousse and peppermint crunch chocolate biscuit with pomegranate and raspberries. This specialty dessert is available for a limited time leading up to Christmas, so if your travel plans are flexible, head over to Sanaa between December 19 and 25, 2021 to give this one a try.
Sanaa is a fan-favorite Walt Disney World restaurant for their delicious bread service, but have you ever thought about planning a holiday meal here? This Christmas, the menu will feature a Roast Ribeye, with jus lie, Tunisian mashed potatoes, green beans with apricot-cranberry butter, and mushroom conserva. This item is only available on Christmas day, December 25, 2021, but we actually do recommend dining outside of the theme parks on Christmas day due to the crowd levels so Sanaa could definitely be a nice choice for Christmas dinner!
Over at The Mara, the resort’s quick service restaurant (and probably my favorite resort quick service restaurant, you can usually pick up Zebra Domes here!) a couple of sweet treats are awaiting Guests just for the holidays. Try the Gingeraffe, this absolutely adorable giraffe-shaped gingerbread cookie, or the Chocolate and Peppermint Cookie Sandwich made with smoked chocolate and spice cookies with peppermint buttercream. Both items from The Mara are available December 1-31, 2021.
Be sure to add Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to your resort holiday tour at Walt Disney World this winter, and as always, check back here at Disney Fanatic for the latest updates on all of the seasonal festivities at Walt Disney World.
