Regular visitors know that Disney Springs is rarely the same from one year to the next. Stores relocate, restaurants debut, and construction projects constantly reshape different corners of the shopping and dining district. This time, one of Disney Springs' most recognizable businesses has temporarily packed up and moved.
If Ghirardelli is usually one of your first stops, you'll want to make a small change to your plans.

The beloved chocolate shop has temporarily relocated while work begins on a major renovation of its longtime home. Instead of closing completely, Ghirardelli is continuing operations from a temporary storefront located in Disney Springs' Town Center.
Many guests may recognize the building immediately. It previously housed the Black Tap CrazyShake pop-up and, before that, was home to Sprinkles Cupcakes for several years.
The move means visitors can still enjoy the same desserts they've come to expect, from rich chocolate treats to oversized sundaes and milkshakes that have made the location one of Disney Springs‘ biggest dessert destinations.
Of course, many Disney fans also stop in for another reason entirely. The complimentary chocolate squares handed out at the entrance have become a small tradition for countless visitors, making Ghirardelli a quick stop even for guests who aren't planning to order dessert.

Disney says the original location is receiving more than just a fresh coat of paint. Once construction wraps up, the shop will include expanded seating, a more efficient checkout area, and additional updates that the company hasn't announced yet.
Construction walls now surround the original building, while directional signs help guests find the temporary location nearby.
Current plans call for the renovated flagship location to reopen in spring 2027, giving Disney plenty of time to complete the project.
While longtime visitors may miss seeing Ghirardelli in its familiar home, the temporary relocation ensures guests won't have to wait months to enjoy one of Disney Springs' signature experiences.

As Disney Springs continues growing and evolving, projects like this have become increasingly common. Existing favorites are being refreshed alongside new additions, helping keep the destination appealing for first-time visitors and returning Disney fans alike.
For now, chocolate lovers simply need to head to Town Center instead of Ghirardelli's longtime storefront. Everything else that has made the location a Disney Springs staple remains ready to welcome guests until the refreshed flagship returns next year.
