Test Track 3.0 Preview Announced—But Even Passholders May Miss Out

The return of the virtual queue is causing quite a stir among Disney Annual Passholders—and for good reason. As Disney prepares to debut its reimagined Test Track attraction at EPCOT, the company has announced a special preview window for passholders that runs from July 13 to July 19, 2025. But there’s a big catch: you’ll need to navigate the always-chaotic virtual queue system if you want to experience the new ride before the general public.

What You Need to Know About the Preview Period

While most dates during the preview window are open, July 17 has mysteriously been excluded, with no official explanation from Disney. That leaves six days for Annual Passholders to grab a spot and experience the attraction early—assuming they’re able to join the virtual queue in time.

Disney has made it clear that access to the preview is not guaranteed. Guests must join the virtual queue through the My Disney Experience app, which opens each day at 7 a.m. sharp. A park reservation for EPCOT is required to participate in that early-morning drop.

Virtual Queue Details and Strategy

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • An active Annual Pass

  • A valid EPCOT park reservation

  • Access to the My Disney Experience app

  • Prompt participation in the 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. queue openings

It’s important to understand that success is not guaranteed. Even with all of these elements in place, boarding groups are expected to fill up within seconds—just like they did with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure previews last year.

If you don’t have an EPCOT reservation for the day, your only hope will be the second virtual queue drop at 1 p.m., but those opportunities tend to be just as competitive.

Why Test Track Is Generating Buzz

Disney hasn’t completely rebuilt Test Track, but the overhaul has brought major enhancements in storytelling, design, and effects. The refreshed experience leans into a sleek, futuristic theme that’s expected to resonate with both longtime fans and first-time riders. Interest is sky-high, and early access is being treated like a golden ticket.

A Word to the Wise

If you’re hoping to participate in this limited preview, it’s time to start planning. Set alarms, double-check your app, and be ready for some early morning tension. It may not be the most relaxing way to start your day, but it’s the price of getting ahead in the Disney queue game.

In short: don’t sleep on this. Literally.
