Beginning in early February, the Magic Kingdom is transformed into a devilishly diabolical theme park on select Thursday and Friday nights between now and July. If you are planning a visit to Disney World and are looking for a special event, this event might be for you. The event happens after the park has closed. Similar to other after hour events, the number of tickets is limited to allow guests to enjoy small crowd levels during the event. Here are the six things that we loved about the event, plus the one thing that we are begging for Disney to change!
Special Entertainment
One of the main features that differentiates Villains After Hours from the traditional After Hours events is the focus on the villains and how they are showcased during the event. This is done at Villains After Hours through the Villains Unite the Night show in front of Cinderella Castle. The show is offered twice a night, so guests can move freely about the park and check out either show. The show itself features some classic villains – Dr. Facilier, the Evil Queen, Hades, Jafar, and Maleficent. The show is a great combination of music and dance mixed with stunning projections onto Cinderella Castle. Since tickets to the event are limited, guests should not have any problem finding a great place to watch the show.
Free Food
Similar to all of the other After Hours events, guests purchasing a ticket to the event are treated to free popcorn, ice cream, as well as soda and water. These snacks are available at snack carts throughout the park making it easy to grab something as you hop in line for your favorite attractions. Guests will be pleased to know that Cast Members will have set up the popcorn and drinks to easily grab so you are not spending much time in line before heading off to your next adventure!
Special Food and Merchandise
In addition to the food that is free, guests attending this event will also be able to find delicious specialty treats available for purchase at select locations. From spooky, villainous hot dogs to decadent desserts, you’ll definitely want to leave some room in your appetite of popcorn and ice cream to sample at least one of these offerings. Guests can find the specialty food at Casey’s Corner, Storybook Treats, and the Tortuga Tavern. In addition to the food, guests who like grabbing a souvenir will not be disappointed in the merchandise offerings – guests will find a whole selection of t-shirts and tank tops for purchase at locations throughout the park. Even passholders can find a new shirt for their collection at either the Emporium or Mickey’s Star Traders.
