The 6 Things You’ll Love About Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival

Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

Guests who are visiting Disney World between now and the end of May are in for a special treat if they stop by Epcot. Guests who do will be treated to sights and smells of the annual Flower and Garden Festival. We had the chance to experience the festival this past weekend and here are the six things you’ll definitely want to check out if you have the chance to visit!

6 – Festival Merchandise – guests who like shopping and want a keepsake from the festival should head to the old Wonders of Life Pavilion near Mission: SPACE. Guests can grab t-shirts, rain gauges, posters, glasses, flower pots, and more. You can also find most of the festival merchandise at various kiosks throughout the park. Annual Passholders looking for the limited-edition merchandise do have to visit the Wonders of Life Pavilion. There are a lot of great items, so be sure to check it out!

5 – Epcot EGG-stravaganza – while not an activity that is tied to Flower and Garden Festival, this game is fun for kids and for adults. Participants must locate a Disney-themed Easter egg that has been hidden in each of the World Showcase pavilions. The eggs are fairly well-sized, so it isn’t too difficult to find. Once you’ve spotted the egg at each pavilion and put a sticker on the map, you can turn in the map for a special prize at the Port of Entry. The maps can be bought at locations throughout the park and only cost $6!

4 – Outdoor Kitchens – much like Food and Wine, the Flower and Garden Festival is home to a variety of outdoor kitchens that features some wonderful food to snack on. Guests can pick up a passport when entering the park to see what each location has to serve. There are not as many outdoor kitchens as there are for Food and Wine. Be sure to check out the Pineapple Promenade – they serve a delicious spicy hot dog!

3 – Weekend Concert Series – on the weekends, Epcot presents a variety of musical artists to entertain guests at night at the American Gardens Theatre. The line-up features artist from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. The artists perform three shows a night, so you don’t have to worry about missing everything else that the Flower and Garden Festival has to offer!

2 – Topiaries – the focus of the Flower and Garden Festival are all of the topiaries of your favorite characters throughout Epcot. You can see Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in Germany, characters from the Lion King near the Outpost, and Beauty and the Beast in France. We love marveling at all of the work that goes into shaping these topiaries and taking photos of our favorites!

1 – Educational Workshops – at the Wonders of Life Pavilion Disney puts on a variety of educational workshops to teach guests about gardening and growing food. Be sure to stop by the pavilion and check out what Disney is offering. Also, special during the festival, Disney is offering additional tours so guests can peek behind the scenes and learn a little bit more about the gardens throughout World Showcase!

Flower and Garden is quickly becoming one of favorite special events at Walt Disney World and with 3 whole months to enjoy the fun, you definitely should make some time on your trip to stop by Epcot. Have you been yet? What was your favorite part of the festival?
