The smash hit Frozen, featuring everyone’s favorite earworm “Let it Go,” is a great film to watch when you’re under the weather. If you’re running a fever, all those images of ice and snow will help your mind cool off, even with a summer-loving snowman number. And if you have a cold, you will never find Princess Anna’s struggle more relatable. But don’t worry her selfless act of true love cures her in the end, and your act of self-care by watching this 2013 Disney film could do the same for you!

Mary Poppins (1964)

This should be a no-brainer. First of all, Julie Andrews’ voice has the ability to soothe any soul. Second, Mary Poppins’ song “A Spoonful of Sugar” gives you explicit instructions on how to take care of yourself. She may be singing about doing lame tasks by finding the fun, but humming “A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down / The medicine go down-own / The medicine go down/ Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down / In a most delightful way” will help you lighten up every new dose of cough syrup you and your little one struggle with.

Tangled (2010)

Another recent animated movie can feel quite relatable during your illness as well! While you’re stuck inside all day, think of Rapunzel trapped in her tower all those years. You’re basically twins. It’s pretty awesome being able to relate to a Disney Princess when you feel like you’re on your deathbed (no offense to Sleeping Beauty or Snow White). Take some time to read a book (or maybe two or three), brush your hair, and try out Rapunzel’s healing incantation. Who knows, maybe it could work for you like it did for Flynn Rider and Mother Gothel!

Alice in Wonderland (1951)

When you’re sick, you can feel like you’re going crazy. Why not throw on Alice in Wonderland and feel right at home with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare? This whole movie is a compilation of crazy images, colors, and happenings that may not exactly cure your ailments, but it sure will help make your fever dreams feel a whole lot more sane in comparison. Plus, you can drink your tea with them! A win-win!

Hercules (1997)

You’re probably bumbling around with a stuffed-up head or queasy stomach, knocking things off of counters and feeling like you’re all thumbs. Teen Hercules can relate. Stick it out with him as he goes the distance and is restored to god-like health, battling monsters even when he feels down and out. If that’s not doing it for you, hope that someone will jump into Hades’ River Styx (where all those ghostly lost souls float) and pulls yours out soon.

Hopefully, these Disney movie suggestions get you feeling better on even your worst sick days! Let us know if any one of these helps your recovery along!
