4. Prepaid Expense
Depending on the level you choose, the cost varies. The quick service plan costs $52.50 per person per day up to the deluxe plan which costs $116.25 per person per day. The cost of the plan is added to your vacation, so it is an expense that you pay in advance. This takes some of the sticker shock off dining at the Disney restaurants since you’ve already paid the cost. Depending on where you choose to eat and what you’re eating, the dining plans may make sense for you and your family. You may want to sit down and look at the menus of some of your favorite restaurants to see if any of the dining plans make sense for you.
5. Linked to MagicBand
An added benefit of the dining plans is that guests can redeem their selections through their MagicBands. Much like your room reservation information and FastPass+ selections, the information for you dining plan is stored on your MagicBand and is accessed through the touch points at the snack carts and restaurants.
6. Still Need to Tip
Guests using the dining plans should still carry some cash with them as tips and gratuities are not included in any of the dining plan selections. While the tips are a small expense against the cost of the food, it is something to be aware of as you are determining whether or not you want to choose a dining plan or not.
The Disney Dining Plan can be a good selection based on your food choices and preferences when at Disney World. As with most things associated with a Disney World vacation, guests will need to take some time and research whether or not it makes sense for you. Do you think you’ll use the Disney Dining Plan on a future trip?
