Worlds will collide this Sunday on American Idol when Disney performances take the Idol stage. Reporting live from the “World of Color” at the Pixar Pier in the Disneyland Resort, Ryan Seacrest and Mickey Mouse are kicking off a night filled with friendly competition as five American Idol contestants fight for the top spot.
Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie are star-studded staples of the show, and Disney Night will feature some heavy-hitting performers that fans can’t wait to watch. Viewers can catch celebrity mentor and singer-songwriter Sofia Carson meeting the top five during one-on-one coaching sessions in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park to help them navigate classic Disney numbers.

While Idol fans are invested in the journeys of Zachariah Smith, Iam Tongi, Wé Ani, Colin Stough, Colin Stough, and Megan Danielle, there are even more highly-anticipated Disney Night performances to tune in for.
Opening the show, Sara Bareilles will belt a unique rendition of the Disney100 song “When You Wish Upon a Star.” Another Disney fanatic wish will come true on American Idol’s Disney Night: Halle Bailey, who plays Ariel in Disney’s live-action remake of The Little Mermaid, will perform “Part of Your World.” Bailey’s performance will air two weeks shy of The Little Mermaid hitting theaters on May 26.

As if the press from The Little Mermaid LA premiere, where the film earned rave reviews, wasn’t enough, fans will see Bailey become part of the Idol world during the Disney Night episode on Sunday.
