The Main Street Confectionery is a staple for many Guests visiting Main Street U.S.A. in Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, but it has been closed for refurbishment for some time. It’s reopening is finally confirmed however, with Disney’s official site showing operating hours of 9:00 am to 10:00 pm (the same hours as the park) on Thursday, September 29!

This classic shop is a go-to location for picking up a variety of sweets and treats, including Mickey-shaped rice krispie treats and cake pops, fudge, chocolate covered fruit and marshmallows, cupcakes, cookies, and so much more! When it’s open, I like to start my morning in the Magic Kingdom with a cake pop. The chocolate covered marshmallow ears and slightly gooey cake batter (I usually go for vanilla, but you could also get chocolate or red velvet) is just the perfect start to a day in the Most Magical Place on Earth.

The Main Street Confectionery is also a great stop to pick up some last-minute souvenirs on your way out of the park. During my Disney vacations, this location is where I would usually stop on my way out of my last day in the Magic Kingdom to pick up something sweet to share with coworkers in my office when I return home. With the Confectionery being closed, I’ve been picking up Main Street popcorn from The Emporium, so I’m excited to see the full selection of sweets return across the street when the shop reopens next week!

This location is also a nice spot to use up some of your snack credits you may have leftover from the Disney Dining Plan. The Dining Plan has unfortunately still not returned (it has been gone since the parks closed during the onset of COVID-19 last March), but more and more restaurants have been reopening lately leading up to the resort’s 50th anniversary, so we are hopeful that we’ll hear some news on the Dining Plan perhaps by early 2022.

If you’re hoping to stop at the Main Street Confectionery during your next trip to the Magic Kingdom, be sure to plan your visit for after September 29, so you don’t miss out!
