The Things You’ll Miss Out On in 2019 if You Don’t Visit Walt Disney World

4. Gran Destino Tower

Opening in the summer, the Gran Destino Tower is an addition to Coronado Springs.  This addition will tower over the resort and invite guests to enjoy breathtaking views, as well as new amenities to the resort. A new restaurant will be added in the middle of Lago Dorado, as well as a restaurant on top of the tower with stunning views around property.  The new tower adds over 500 rooms to the resort, including 50 suites for guests looking for more space or to celebrate a special occasion.

5. Galaxy’s Edge

Quite possibly the most anticipated opening to come to Disney World since the park itself opened in 1971, Hollywood Studios nears completion of its reimagining with the opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire Outpost.  Guests will be able to experience two new attractions.  The first allows guests to climb aboard the Millennium Falcon and participate in a mission and actually help pilot and navigate the ship!  The second attraction, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, have guests captured by Kylo Ren and the First Order and force them to escape! In addition to these phenomenal attractions, guests can shop for souvenirs at the street market, as well as get local delicacies from food stalls.  Guests will also enjoy the thematic inclusion of the land with creatures and characters roaming the land.

6. Expanded After Hours Events

Disney has been having After Hours events at Magic Kingdom for the past two years, but in 2019 Disney has expanded the offerings to include Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.  These separate, hard-ticket events allow guests to special access to the park after closing with a restricted number of guests. Guests will be able to ride their favorite (and new, popular) attractions.  In addition to attractions, guests can have their fill of popcorn, soda, and water.  Ticket quantities are limited, so be sure to buy tickets in advance if you’re interested in these events.  Also consult the calendar because they are available only on select nights during certain times of the year!
