James Bond is set for a multi-platform resurgence, with three new iterations of 007 officially confirmed. After several decades of novels, films, and games, fans will soon meet three entirely new versions of the character, each offering a distinct take on the spy’s early career or mentorship.
First, the cinematic reboot is in the hands of Dune (2021) director Denis Villeneuve with a screenplay by Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. Meanwhile, in gaming, Patrick Gibson (Dexter: Original Sin) has been confirmed as James Bond in IO Interactive’s “007 First Light”, a third-person action-adventure origin story releasing in March 2026.

While no actors have been linked to the film yet, with the hunt for the next Bond not expected to get underway until next year, the supporting cast for “007 First Light” includes Lennie James as mentor John Greenway, Noémie Nakai as Miss Roth, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Priyanga Burford as M, Kiera Lester as Moneypenny, and Gemma Chan as Selina Tan. The game promises to define its own canon separate from the upcoming film.
“'007 First Light' is a thrilling narrative action-adventure game developed and published by IO Interactive,” the official website‘s description for the game reads. “Follow James Bond as a young, resourceful, and sometimes reckless recruit in MI6’s training program, and discover an origin story of the world’s most famous spy.”

Finally, the YA audience will get their own Bond in M.W. Craven’s “James Bond and the Secret Agent Academy”, which releases in June 2026. Per Ian Fleming Publications:
“A new generation of young heroes, mentored by 007, have entered the Secret Agent Academy to see if they have what it takes to join the ranks of the Double O’s. Together with Bond can they defeat a deadly foe lurking in the shadows – and, more importantly, can they pass their exams?
This blockbuster series is written by bestselling and award-winning crime and thriller author M.W. Craven. For existing fans and a new generation of spy adventure readers, this is 007 like you’ve never seen him before.”

Even outside these three, the literary side also sees Vaseem Khan’s “Quantum of Menace”, focusing on Q rather than Bond himself, adding another new angle to the franchise.
For fans, this is a rare moment: three separate actors, mediums, and storylines will bring James Bond to life in ways that have never intersected before.
From the big screen to consoles and the page, 007 is being reimagined simultaneously across multiple formats.
